He’s one of the fastest an strongest riders in the world, almost unbeatable! Christian Ahlmann, pillar of German jumping, was born on December 17th 1974 in Marl, a town of 90.000 citizens located in Nordrhein-Westfalen, son of Hilde and Georg Ahlmann, both first very good jumping riders and then owner of a trotters stable. Christian began to ride in the riding center of his grandfather and only thirteen he already showed talent and competitive spirit; he had a very successful carreer as junior and young rider. Become senior, he was supported by good teachers, as Paul Shockemoehle and Ludger Beerbaum who taught him also the agonistic spirit and the good management of horses.
Then, Christian settled finally in his father's stables in Marl, where he realized the Christrian Ahlmann Sportpferde GmbH

The professional career of Christian achieved the top level with the arrival in his stable of the grey stallion Coester in 2002, bought by Marion Jauss, sister of Madeleine Winter- Schulze, a great friend of Christian’s family and his sponsor and friend still. Thanks to the extraordinary grey, he reached the top of jumping ranking and won a lot of medals: individual and team gold medal in European Championship Donaueschingen 2003 and team gold medal in European Championship San Patrignano 2005, silver team medal in European Championships Mannheim 2007, bronze team medal in World Equestrian Games Aachen 2006. After Coester was retired from competitions in 2009, another great champion arrived in his stable: Taloubet Z, entrusted to him by Zangersheide, the stud-book of great horseman and breeder Leon Melchior, recently died, and father of Judy Ann, Christian’s girlfriend and mother of their son Leon, born in 2012. In that period, another champion arrived in the Ahlmann’s stable: Codex One.
With Taloubet, Codex One and Lorena Christian reached the top of the FEI ranking list: in 2012 he was number one and kept the title till Agust 2013. Meanwhile, he took part in Olympic Games London 2012 with Codex One and won the Top Ten Final in Geneve with Taloubet Z. In 2014 Christian took part in World Equestrian Games in Caen with Codex One.
Beside Taloubet and Codex, in last seasons Christian could rely on Colorit, Epleasure van het Heike, Cornado II and Aragon Z, really a great group of horses.
He ended 2015 season winning three Gand Prix: Stuttgart with Codex One, Madrid and Mechelen with Taloubet Z. He started 2016 winning the Grand Prix of Basel with Codex One, Braunschweig with Colorit and Neumunster with Codex One. In this excellent form, he seems to be the favorite winner of the FEI World Cup Final at the end of March in Goteborg. But this is also the year of Olympic Games… we are waiting for Rio.
