The top Belgian rider stops competing and dedicates all his experience to his sons
He is one of the most charismatic riders of the Belgian team and of the whole international showjumping world. A name that will forever be associated with the legend of the stallion Darco, icon of the success of the Belgian breeding. This legendary rider, 52 years old, decided to hang up his boots and gave way to his sons. After four Olympic participations and two 4th individual places, three World Equestrian Games participations, ten European Championships with a silver medal in Arnhem 2001 with Otterongo (Darco), several times Champion of Belgium and a lot of victories in the most important and prestigious competitions, Ludo Philippaerts will now be able to focus on its business and on the equestrian career of all his sons in their own stable, Philippaerts Horsetrading, Guitrode – Belgium.
