CSIO Rome is undarway: Great Britain team wins the Nations Cup

It is the Great Britain team the winner of Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ in Rome Piazza di Siena, 2016 edition! The crack British team is composed by Michael Whitaker with Cassionato, John Whitaker with Ornellaia, Jessica Mendoza with Spirit T and Ben Maher with Tic Tac.
No doubt, it is one of the most beautiful show jumping event in the word. To win the Nations Cup or the Grand Prix in Rome is one of the dream of every rider. The atmosphere is unbeatable, the wonderful Villa Borgese park is the green venue of the four days of competitions that takes place in the Italian historical capital, the Pope’s city. The 84th edition of CSIO Rome - Piazza di Siena Master fratelli D’Inzeo is underway. A lot of Italians and foreigners come every year in the occasion of the international show not only to attend the competitions but also for a pleasant tour in the city.
​This edition counts 67 competitors from 16 countries, 8 of the world’s best teams, 3 olympic champions, Nineteen the Italian riders, ready with their horses to raise the Italian flag and sound the Mameli anthem.

The list of competitors just sparkles with stars, with world no. 1 Simon Delestre heading up the French team, while the 2000 Olympic and reigning World and European champion Jeroen Dubbeldam leads the crack Dutch team.
Reigning Olympic individual gold medallist, Steve Guerdat from Switzerland, is right on top having claimed the World Cup title for the second season in a row just a few short weeks ago, Sweden’s Henrik von Eckermann will be defending the Grand Prix City of Rome’s victory last year.
The Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ Canada, Germany, Great Britain (2015 winner), France, Sweden, USA, The Netherlands, and Italy, the host nation.
​The riders are presenting their best horses on the challenging courses set by Italians Uliano Vezzani. To complete the whole contest, there is the experienced and celebrated Show Director, Eleonora Ottaviani with her skilful Team.

Among the top riders, there are a lot of Animo Testimonials, some of them well known and beloved by Italian public, such as Michael Whitaker, who has collected many victories in Villa Borghese, the reigning World Champion by Team Jur Vrieling, the new rising star Jessica Mendoza, the ‘flying’ American star Kent Farrington, Belgian Nicola Philippaerts, Austrian Max Kuhner, German Patrick Stuhlmeyer and last but not least the Italians Luca Moneta and Piergiorgio Bucci, always at the top of international show jumping and really full of fans!
