Emily King is one of the rising stars of international Eventing. Twenty years, Young Rider, Emily is the daughter of the champion Mary King, from whom she got her talent, courage, determination and passion for horses. Till now Emily has already taken part at five editions of the European Championships and competes in the most important CIC and CCI. Emily lives in Newak-on-Trent, in Nottingamshire, where she works with his team and his mother Mary. In the last seasn, a very good 4° place in CCCI4* at Pau (France) with her top horse Brookleigh.

“what a fantastic winter I've had! The two months I spent out in Germany with Marcus Ehning were two of the most interesting and informative months of my life. I was lucky enough to take Currant (Cooley Currency) out with me, so I could receive training on him as well as being trained as a rider. Marcus was a phenomenal teacher, but as well as the lessons, just day-to-day riding alongside him and watching him work his horses was fascinating (he is pretty much the Lionel Messi of the equestrian world!).
Subconsciously you learn so much from watching top riders... All the little things which you aren’t necessarily taught from a young age can be the things which determine world class riders from the general professional field. So that was something which I will really treasure.
The horses are all now back in work and getting geared up ready for the season ahead (VERY exciting!). January consisted of their mandatory month of road work, up and down the Devon hills, which we feel is crucial to give them a solid base for their fitness to be built on. During February they will progressively start their schooling, jumping, fitness work and cross country schooling as well as attending BS Shows and World Class training days. Last Tueday, February 2th, I travelled to Pippa (Funnell)’s for my first ever Olympic Long List training day (I can't even begin to describe how excited I am!!) so that should be very interesting... I took Brook, Dre, Charlie and Currant... And Mum as groom - hehee!!

So exciting times ahead and lots to look forward to!”
