What a great pair!
Italian rider Luca Moneta and his Neptune Brecourt give us always new thrills
They are competing together since 2008. Luca Maria Moneta, born in Milan, 50 years-old, and Neptune Brecourt, bay 16 years-old Selle Français (Cumano x Kajack), have reached the highest international achievements in show jumping growing from year to year and showing every time deep feeling and extraordinary mutual trust.
Neptune is a powerful horse with a strong personality and great athletic abilities and courage; at the beginning he was not an ‘easy horse’, his temperament was not easy to control but he fortunately found in Luca the best guide, friend and rider.
Luca Moneta is well known in equestrian world for his Natural Horsemanship riding method, a philosophy of working with horses based on ethological principles, as the horse’s natural instincts and methods of communication, with the understanding that horses do not learn through fear or pain, but rather from pressure and the release of pressure. ‘Relationship’ is the key word of his daily work. With patience, sensitivity and foresight, Luca has led Neptune to express his qualities as a top jumper and together they reached the top of international rankings.
Last week end the pair won the Six Bars at CSI5*-W in Leipzig, Germany; in 2016 they won the Six Bars in CSIO Rome and in CSI5* Leipzig, 2° place in Derby competition at CSI5* Dinard and 5° place in Derby at CSI4* Hickstead.
In the last seasons they took part in the most prestigious CSIO and CSI representing Italy in Grand Prix and Nations Cups and gained a lot of victories and very good placements. They got the 10th place in the Individual European Championships in Herning 2013. Thinking about his horse’s health and wellness, from last year, 2016, Luca decided to lower the categories and take no more part in 1.60 categories.
Luca Moneta will held a clinic in Dubai from January 30 to February 1, 2017, at Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club. The clinic, titled ‘Horseyes Clinic jumping and horsemanship with Luca Moneta’, is organized by Horseyes.
