Born in Japan, taizo Sugitani comes from an equestrian family. His dad, Masayasu Sugitani, took part at three Olimpic Games and his grandfather, Koichi Kawaguchi, was an olimpic Rider. At the age of 18 he moved on the heart of Europe, in Holland, to improve his riding technique with an exceptional trainer, Peter Wilde. Now he lives in Lohmar, Germany, where he owns his stable, the TS-Showjumping GMBH. He took part at 5 Olimpic Games, 6 FEI World Cup and 2 FEI World Cup Finals for Japan.
His best result as a rider was the 10th place at the Lexington 2010 individual World Championship with his top horse Avenzio. Taizo is always at the top in the International jumping competitions. His desire for the future, when he will stop riding is to become a trainer and to bring his trainees at the highest international competitions.
