Ireland Dominates the Scene, Winning the Prestigious Five-Star Aachen Nations Cup.

The Underwriting Exchange Irish Show Jumping Team delivered a magnificent performance in Aachen. Germany, to win the five-star €1 million Mercedes-Benz Nations Cup – the final top-level event before the Paris Olympic Games.

Michael Blake’s team, consisting of Denis Lynch, Bertram Allen, Shane Sweetnam, and Cian O’Connor, dominated a field of the world’s best nations, finishing with a zero score and winning without anchor rider Cian O’Connor even needing to jump in the second round.

Being drawn first in the Mercedes-Benz Nations Cup benefited the Irish team in Aachen.

In a perfect pre-Paris rehearsal, the team of Bertram Allen on Pacino Amiro, Denis Lynch on Vistogrand, Cian O’Connor on Fancy de Kergane, and Shane Sweetnam on James Kann Cruz recorded Ireland’s sixth win in this prestigious event.
