Bertram Allen’s first time in CSIO Rome, Italy

Italian fans are waiting for Irish superstar and his top horses in Villa Borghese’s charming arena.

Irish rider Bertram Allen will compete in CSIO Piazza di Siena in Rome, Italy, May 25/29, for the first time. The young very talented rider is a prestigious new entry in the traditional Italian CSIO, one of the most coveted show in the world. The 21 years old rider will be for the first time in the wonderful arena of Villa Borghese but he was still in Italy in 2014 when he won the World Cup Gran Prix in Verona with his mare Molly Malone V.

Young superstar Bertram Allen has an impressive career, full of victories and placements all over the world, to the point that he was named ‘Jumper of the Year’ by the equestrian magazine Irish Field last February. It was the second year running the talented Irishman has picked up the prestigious jumping award at the ceremony held in Co Kildare: in 2014 he was named the Irish Field Senior Showjumper of the Year and Irish Field Star of the Year. In the same year he was named Young Sport Star of the Year by the Irish Independent newspaper, and voted International Rider of the Year at the Irish Showjumper's Club Awards in Naas, Ireland.
​The young rider, born in Wexford and who is now based in Hünxe, Germany, has enjoyed global success over the past year. His 2015 season results included third place in the World Cup Final in Las Vegas riding his faithful mare Molly Malone V. He was the youngest rider to win a Global Champions Tour Grand Prix when partnering the experienced stallion Romanov in Paris in July. He was in the Irish team winner in Nations Cup at Dublin Horse Show in August. He was also the youngest rider to compete in the World Equestrian Games 2014 in Caen, Normandy, France, patnering Molly Malone. The list of his victories is very very long… The 21-year-old is currently ranked ninth in the Longines FEI showjumping ranking. He is on track to earn his country an individual spot at Olympic Games in Rio…
