Piergiorgio Bucci and Emilio Bicocchi winners in Ireland
With their wonderful horses Casallo Z and Ares, the two Italian riders, Animo Testimonials, won the Nations Cup in Dublin.
Italy claimed the victory in penultimate leg of the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ Jumping 2016 Europe Division 1 League at the Royal Dublin Society showgrounds in Dublin (IRL). Italian Team included Animo Testimonial Piergiorgio Bucci with Casallo Z and Emilio Bicocchi Ares Ares, Lorenzo de Luca with Ensor de Litrange, Bruno Chimirri with Tower Mouche.
After two hard-fought rounds the winner team was decided in a head-to head between Irish Animo Testimonial Denis Lynch, with All Star 5, and Piergiorgio Bucci. Piergiorgio Bucci sealed the victory in a third-round jump-off accomplishing a one triple-clear round with his stallion Casallo Z.
Second place for Ireland, including in the Team the 20-year-old Bertram Allen, the world no. 9, with Hector van D’Abdijhoeve.
This was Italy’s fifth victory in the 90-year history of the Aga Khan Cup which is awarded to the winning side at the Irish fixture. The first Italian team to lift the coveted trophy back in 1955 included the legendary Raimondo D’Inzeo and Merano, and the last was posted back in 2009 when Piergiorgio Bucci was also in the team.
