Welcome home Edward!
After the experiences in Germany and USA, Edward Levy is still at home, in Normandy. A new chapter of his life is starting…
Edward Levy, thanks to his determination and the right choices, is one of the young French horse riders receiving great attention on the international scene. Already in the spotlight in the last show jumping seasons, the twenty-two French rider was champion of France 'AS Jeunes Cavaliers' in 2012 at Le Mans on Belle Rock and winner with Starlette de la Roque of the seven-year Master at Fontainebleau in 2013 and has two participations at the Young Riders European Championships, in 2013 at Vejer de la Frontera riding Quarto Mail and in 2014 in Arezzo riding Belle Rock.
A pupil of the great champion Patrice Delaveau, Edward Levy was trained at the Haras de la Forge, where he learnt all the basics of equestrian techinque; last year Edward moved in the stable of Ludger Beerbaum to increase his experience, to improve technique and to develop his professionalism. This was a great experience for his sporting development, as he said: “Ludger is an exceptional rider, one of the best in the world for decades and certainly not by chance. When he is on the field, you can perceive his sensitivity, his precision, his impeccable training of the horses but even more, the finesse of his riding. German riding is very precise, the horses take the circuits with serenity, coolness and regularity, demonstrating an incredible dressage. In this last year I had an unbelievable experience in Ludger Beerbaum stable where I had the possibility to ride and train many different horses, above all young horses, under the guide of the German champion. This has hardened me and I learned a lot about the horses management and business”.
Six months ago, Edward had a new great opportunity: due to a shoulder injury, the American rider Brianne Goutal could not ride his horses and asked him to move in Florida to ride her horses in the show jumping circuits. He could not give up such an opportunity, therefore Edward left left Beerbaum’s stable and moved to Florida, USA.
“I had the chance to ride a dozen different horses in competition, I took part in the best CSI, competing in big Grand Prix and Nations Cup – says Edward - The Brianne Goutal team was great, a great atmosphere, looking for welfare of horses and for the good performances. I thoroughly enjoyed and learned there. Florida is another world, the stables are incredible, everything is thought and realized at the best for horses, it is true, but when you are there, you must not lose sight of reality because you can easily do it… I have kept my feet on the ground and I focused more on the horses and my sporting goals that on luxurious environment!”.
After spending six months in Florida, some weeks ago Edward came back to Normandy, working still with Brianne Goutal and also with new sponsors, new horses and his own horses. A new adventure is beginning for him, and, last but non least, at home: “I’m starting a new very exciting adventure with horses. I am now in Normandy near Deauville and I still work with Brianne Goutal in training and marketing of horses; and also I work with a new owners’ group, it's called ‘ShowJump’.
The goal is to combine horse training, sport and horse trading. The aim is the highest level, sportingly and commercially.
I'm super motivated now to the idea to start this new chapter of my life as a rider, with great people around me, that bring confidence and serenity”. Edward has today a really special group of horses such as Umbrella Ter Wilgen Z, Indigo Blue Biolley, Starlette de la Roque, Quina, Madagascar La Silla, Wirma, Ambosell I. He knows where he wants to go and is building his career by focussing on his objectives and in the best way possible.
All the best Edward!
